Product Review

Voortman, like Murray Sugar Free, has an extensive line of sugar free products. Among them, Voortman has a variety of cookies and wafers to satisfy most taste buds. One can find snacks such as chocolate chip cookies, shortbread, oatmeal cookies, and vanilla wafers. Today, I am reviewing the Voortman Sugar Free Peanut Butter Wafers as a start to exploring the Voortman sugar free line.

Looking at the Voortman Sugar Free Peanut Butter Wafers, they are about four inches long, about one and a half inches wide, and about a half an inch thick. The tan, thin wafers sandwich real strips of peanut butter. The outside of the wafers have a fence-like texture commonly found on wafer cookies.

Biting into the peanut butter wafers gives you a crispy and crunchy texture in your mouth. The lightness of the wafers mixes well with the peanut butter and the cookie dissolves relatively quickly after a few bites. Before you know it, you are popping another one in your mouth because the cookies feel a lot lighter than one might expect.

Flavor-wise, despite the Voortman Sugar Free Peanut Butter Wafers using real peanut butter, the wafers have more of a butter flavor than a peanut butter flavor. One can certainly taste the peanut butter, but if you are looking for a strong peanut butter flavor you will likely be disappointed. However, one should not be too sad about the flavor as the wafers taste good and will likely have you reaching for more.

Overall, I recommend the Voortman Sugar Free Peanut Butter Wafers. Normally, I prefer regular cookies such as chocolate chip cookies to wafer style cookies, but I really enjoyed this product. The wafers were light and crispy and had good flavor. There was no artificial aftertaste and I found myself eating more than I thought I would. I would purchase the Voortman Sugar Free Peanut Butter Wafers again, but I would try not to eat too many in one sitting as they are relatively high in fat per serving.
